Carports for Sale
What should you do when you need to protect your car, boat, or RV? Find carports for sale. Get deals on these versatile portable shelters that can protect your everyday vehicle all year long and prevent your boat or RV from damage in an off-season. Shelters of America offers carports for sale on occasion, with traditional metal and polyethylene and fully steel carports available.
Most carports for sale will be made from a powder-coated or galvanized steel frame and a heavy-duty polyethylene tarp. If you plan to have the shelter consistently outdoors, exposed to the elements, consider the durability of galvanized steel. When anchored into the ground, the steel frame holds up against high winds – up to 95 miles per hour – and heavy snow. The tarp, valance-style or enclosed, is treated to be UV resistant, waterproof, mildew resistant, and rot proof. This combination of qualities keeps out water and UV rays – both of which can damage the surface of a vehicle – and allows air to circulate, preventing mold, mildew, and dry rot from forming on the vehicle below.
Metal carports may also be for sale. If you are adding the structure for year-long, long-term coverage, consider a fully steel carport. While a standard steel and polyethylene carport lasts up to 15 years, the polyethylene tarp may need to be replaced after five. With a steel frame and roof, metal carports are designed to last up to 20 years.
Finding carports for sale is the perfect opportunity for a deal on a shelter that will last for many years. Before you purchase a shelter, however, decide why and how you will be using it. Is the carport for protecting your everyday vehicle, or will it have a specific purpose, such as sheltering a seasonal vehicle?
Local ordinances are another factor to consider before looking at carports for sale. Most towns and neighborhoods have local ordinances regarding the size and location of portable shelters and sheds. Typically, a carport should be placed to the side of a home or to the back; restrictions are often placed on the front. If added to a home, a shelter, typically, should cover no more than two vehicles.
