Shelters of America sells several types of storage structures, including portable garages that can house cars, trucks, RVs, and boats, as well as sheds, canopies, party tents, and greenhouses. We offer products in a wide range of sizes and styles because we understand that customers have a variety of needs. Still, sometimes a customer has a particular need that one of our standard products can’t quite meet. That’s why we offer the option to purchase a custom shelter.

Why You Might Need a Customized Storage Building

Perhaps you require a shelter in a specific length and width to fit on your property. You may find that our standard shelters are too long or short, or too wide or narrow, to suit your needs.

You may need a storage building that’s a specific height to store a large vehicle, such as an RV or a boat. While we offer shelters that are generally tall enough to accommodate those types of vehicles, you may have a specific model or a modified version that won’t fit inside one of our standard storage buildings.

How You Can Design a Custom Building

Think about what you want to store in a shelter and the drawbacks of other storage buildings. Figure out what dimensions will work for you. Don’t try to estimate. Take measurements (more than once) to make sure that you’re ordering a shelter that will be the right size.

Consider other factors, such as how you’ll get a vehicle in and out of the storage building. Think about the size of the vehicle and the design of your yard and ask yourself if you would be able to get the vehicle in and out without a problem. If it would be difficult, ordering a shelter with a door at either end might make it a lot easier.

You may be concerned about how limited airflow could affect a vehicle that will spend months in storage. If that’s the case, we can customize your shelter with a ventilation kit to make sure that there is plenty of air circulation.

If your yard has a surface that would make it difficult to set up a storage shelter, you can purchase an auger anchor kit. We offer anchors that can keep a portable garage stable and secure, whether you place it on dirt, loose soil, grass, or gravel.
